How Travel Changed My Life: My Journey to Authentic & Mindful Adventure

My name is Natasha, and for as long as I can remember, I’ve loved to travel. Growing up in the UK with Sri Lankan and English roots, I was always drawn to different cultures, languages, and ways of life. I first started traveling at 18 when I volunteered in a small village in France as a nanny for a family during my summer holidays. I then spent most of my university weekends saving money by working in events in order to travel during my holidays. During the pandemic, I began working remotely and realized that I had the opportunity to travel while working, which led me to move to Barcelona for a year and a half. Eventually, I felt it was time for a change and decided to begin my backpacking trip around South and Central America. That curiosity turned into a lifestyle, and over the past eleven months, I’ve been exploring South America, collecting unforgettable experiences along the way.

I started this blog because, for me, travel is more than just visiting new places—it’s about the stories, the lessons, and the connections we make. Since I started creating videos in Instagram about my travels, I’ve been receiving a lot of DMs asking for travel tips, advice, etc. So I wanted a space to share my adventures, offer practical travel tips, and connect with like-minded explorers who love immersive, mindful, and slow travel. Whether you’re planning your next adventure or just dreaming about one, I hope this blog inspires you to explore the world in a way that feels authentic to you.

My Travel Philosophy

I believe that the heart of travel lies in genuine human connections. I’m not the type of traveler who visits a country just to check off its most famous landmarks or spend time only with other tourists. For me, the most meaningful experiences come from engaging with locals, learning about their culture, and seeing the world through their eyes. Some of my best memories aren’t from visiting well-known cathedrals or landmarks, but from the adventures I’ve had with the incredible people I’ve met along the way. Whether it’s sharing a home-cooked meal, learning a new language, or being invited into a local tradition, these moments shape my understanding of a place far more than any guidebook ever could. This blog is about those experiences—traveling deeply, authentically, and with an open heart.

This blog is more than just a collection of travel tips; it’s a reflection of my journey and the lessons I’m learning along the way. I’d love for you to be part of this adventure!
